
Farabee Becomes 85th Terrier to Play in NHL

Former Boston University standout Joel Farabee, the 2019 NCAA rookie of the year, made his National Hockey League debut on Monday night for the Philadelphia Flyers, helping them earn a win in front of their home fans.
Farabee, who put up four points, including three goals, in four games in the American Hockey League, was called up to the parent club and on Monday became the 85th Terrier to play in the NHL. In a 6-2 win over the Vegas Golden Knights, Farabee recorded three shots, one block and one takeaway in 14:35 of ice time, including 3:04 on the power play.
The 14th overall pick in the 2018 NHL Draft, Farabee led the 2018-19 BU team in points (36) and goals (17) before earning a trifecta of rookie awards - Hockey East Rookie of the Year, New England Rookie of the Year and the Tim Taylor Award, given annually to the top rookie in the NCAA.
