Burr, Dearth Set for MLL Championship Weekend

BOSTON - Two former Boston University men's lacrosse standouts will play for a Major League Lacrosse championship this weekend when James Burr ('19) and Cal Dearth ('17) of the Boston Cannons face off against Denver on Friday night in the second of two league semifinals.
Friday's contest will be televised live on ESPNEWS. If the Cannons defeat the host Outlaws on Friday, they will take on either the Atlanta Blaze or the Chesapeake Bayhawks on Sunday at 1 p.m. The championship game will be broadcast live on ESPN2.
This is the first MLL semifinal appearance for both Dearth and Burr. Dearth is in the midst of his third professional season and second full campaign with the Cannons. He has notched nine goals and added four assists for 13 points in nine games. Burr scored two goals in his MLL debut on Aug. 10 and added a goal and an assist in his second appearance with the Cannons.
Burr and Dearth can become the second and third Terriers to claim an MLL championship; Dominick Calisto ('17) was part of the Ohio Machine squad that won the 2017 trophy.
