- Charleston broke through via a two-out dribbler in front of home plate for the game's lone run against DuBois.
- Gant entered in relief and loaded the bases with a walk but then got a swinging strikeout to keep the deficit at 1-0.
- BU had two on base thanks to Sylvestri's one-out walk and senior Emily Morrow's single in the top of the sixth before Chandler Sparkman (SV 3) induced an infield pop up and ground out.
- Ruff had a two-out single in the seventh, but Sparkman sealed the win with a strikeout.

- The Terriers had two runners on base in the third on another and Sylvestri's single, but again, Hylen got out of the jam by inducing a ground out and fly out.
- After Gant retired the first nine Cyclones, ISU led off the fourth with a single and later scored with the help of a sac bunt and two-out RBI single to left for the game's lone run.
- BU's last best chance came in the sixth with both Sylvestri and Morrow earning back-to-back walks.
- The Terriers were unable to get the ball out of the infield and finished with a 6-4-3 double play.
- Trying to add an insurance run, Iowa State recorded two singles in the seventh against Gant, who bounced back with a ground out.

- After playing 25 games outside the northeast, the Terriers will host their first game on Wednesday (March 20) against UMass at 4 p.m.
