HOW IT HAPPENED
- After being shut out on Friday, Lowell struck first when Matt Brown batted down an elevated puck in the slot and directed it towards the net, where Chase Blackmun poked it in by the left post for a 1-0 lead 8:28 into the game.
- The only two penalties of the game were called on the Terriers later on the in the second but the penalty kill was up to the task, keeping it a one-goal game.
- Late in the second, Chabot potted an equalizer on a wrister from the left circle following a between-the-legs pass by freshman Trevor Zegras.
- The goal came with 3:25 remaining in the second but the River Hawks quickly regained the lead when Austin O'Rourke found the back of the net with 65 ticks in the period.
- The Terriers put together a strong third period but didn't have anything to show for it until Curry's late heroics.
- With just over two minutes left in regulation, Fensore controlled the puck in the right corner and cut behind the net before backhanding a pass to Curry at the right crease that he buried for his team-leading 13th goal of the season.
- Both teams had opportunities for a game winner the rest of the way before settling for the draw.
- BU did not have a power play in the contest and successfully killed off both of UML's chances with the man advantage.
- It marked the first time since Oct. 10, 2014, against Massachusetts that BU's opponent committed zero penalties.
- Freshman Ashton Abel made his second straight start in goal for the Terriers and stopped 25 of the 27 shots he faced.
- UML got a 30-save performance from Tyler Wall as the Terriers held a 32-27 shot advantage.
- BU hasn't lost a season series to the River Hawks since 2013-14 and the teams had split in each of the previous four seasons.
- The Terriers will return to action on Friday (Jan. 31) with a visit to Vermont.
- Game time at Gutterson Fieldhouse is set for 7 p.m.
