Terriers to Honor Senior Class, Host Lehigh in PL Weekend Series

BOSTON – In the final weekend of the regular season, the Boston University softball team will host Patriot League rival Lehigh with Saturday's doubleheader and Sunday's contest both set for 12 p.m.
The Terriers are riding an NCAA-best 26 game win streak and sit atop the PL standings at 15-0 following last weekend's sweep at Army West Point that saw the first two games go to extra innings and the third finish in five. The Mountain Hawks most recently went 2-1 at home against Colgate to improve to 13-2 in league play and will need a sweep over BU to claim hosting rights for next week's conference tournament.

- BU is a perfect 13-0 at home this season and owns the nation's second-longest home win streak at 24 contests behind Oklahoma (36). The Terriers lead the NCAA with 32 straight wins against conference competition, well ahead of Northern Iowa's 15 straight wins in the Missouri Valley.
- Sophomore Kayla Roncin leads BU at .436 with four homers, five triples, 10 doubles and 33 RBIs. Her 72 hits rank tied-for-third all-time at BU while the 49 runs scored are tied-for-fifth.
- Senior Emily Gant is second at .397 with 40 runs scored 45 RBIs. Both she and junior Caitlin Coker (.349) own six homers apiece, while senior Nicole Amodio (.305) has a team-high seven homers alongside 43 RBIs.

- Junior Lizzy Avery (18-8, 2.13 ERA) earned her third PL Pitcher of the Week award on Tuesday after collecting two wins at Army. She owns 173 strikeouts in 157.2 innings, while classmate Allison Boaz (19-4, 1.47 ERA) has tallied 101 strikeouts in an identical 157.2 innings.
- Overall, BU is batting .311 while holding opponents to .222 with a 119-69 advantage in extra-base hits.
- The Mountain Hawks previously earned series sweeps against Holy Cross, Lafayette and Bucknell along with a pair of wins against both Army and Colgate.
- Lehigh is 7-5 in true road games and owns one top-100 RPI win against George Washington (5-1). The Mountain Hawks own an 8-5 win over Purdue in Florida dropped a 2-0 decision at South Florida (RPI #39).
- Carley Barjaktarovich leads Lehigh at .400 with 31 runs scored, while Emily Cimino is batting .398 with four triples, four homers, 14 doubles and 31 RBIs.
- Jaelynn Chesson (.358) leads Lehigh with 11 homers and 35 RBIs, while Addie Kittel (.309) owns seven homers and 26 RBIs.
- Gabriella Nori (9-9, 3.43 ERA) has tallied 102 strikeouts in 102.0 innings, while Katelyn Young (14-5, 4.08 ERA) has posted 89 strikeouts in 120.0 innings.
- Overall, Lehigh is batting .311 while holding opponents to .290 and posting 50-37 advantage in stolen bases.
- BU leads the all-time series, 19-12, and has gone 11-1 over the last 12 games.
- The Terriers have won six straight, including both PL tournament games last season at home.
- Lehigh last defeated BU at home in 2019, 1-0, and last defeated the Terriers on the road in 2018, 8-5.
- Either BU (15-0 PL) or Lehigh (13-2 PL) will host the PL tournament, which will take place Thursday (May 12) - Saturday (May 14).
- Colgate has already clinched one of the other two remaining tournament spots. Army needs either a win over Colgate or for Holy Cross to lose a game to Lafayette.
