Celebrini Named Hockey East Rookie of the Week

AMESBURY, Mass. - Freshman Macklin Celebrini of the Boston University men's ice hockey team was once again named Hockey East Rookie of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
This is the fourth time this season and third time in the past four weeks that Celebrini has earned this award. The freshman phenom posted a pair of two-point games with a goal and assist in both of the Terriers' outings this past week. He scored a power-play goal and had the primary assist on the extra-attacker goal that forced overtime on Tuesday at Northeastern before scoring the game-winning goal and recording another primary assist at No. 18/17 New Hampshire on Friday.

The youngest player in college hockey, Celebrini has tallied 37 points (19g, 18a) in 23 games, which is tied for second in Hockey East, tied for second among national rookies and tied for fifth overall in the country. In fact, Celebrini is one of just five players since the 2005-06 season to score 19 goals in his first 23 career games. The reigning Hockey East Rookie of the Month enters Monday's Beanpot opener having scored a goal in eight of his last 10 appearances.
