BOSTON – Riding an eight-game win streak, the No. 21/23 nationally-ranked Boston University softball team will visit Ivy League member Dartmouth Tuesday afternoon at 3 p.m.

The Terriers were originally scheduled to host UMass Lowell, but that doubleheader was postponed to next Tuesday, April 9. BU was able to add the single game matchup against the Big Green before resuming Patriot League play at Colgate on April 6-7.

TERRIER TIDBITS

BU enters the week with its highest ever national ranking at No. 21 thanks to D1Softball. The Terriers have moved up to No. 23 in the NFCA poll and are receiving votes in both Softball America and ESPN.com/USA Softball polls.
BU is 11-2 in true road games this season following last Tuesday's doubleheader sweep at defending Big East regular season champion UConn (6-3, 1-0) and a series sweep at Army West Point (9-3, 9-0, 3-0).
Already the owner of the program record for wins, ninth-year head coach Ashley Waters just needs two more victory to reach the 300-win milestone.
The Terriers have three batters hitting over .400 and ranking in the top 100 nationally with both seniors Lauren Keleher and Kayla Roncin at .430. Graduate student Caitlin Coker is next at .406.
Tabbed No. 14 in Softball America's Top Pitcher rankings on Monday, sophomore Kasey Ricard (13-2, 1.46 ERA) is third in the country in allowing just 3.34 hits per game. She has totaled 124 strikeouts in 100.2 innings along with an NCAA-leading nine shutouts.
Graduate student Allison Boaz (10-1, 1.83 ERA) and Avery (4-0, 1.75 ERA) have joined Ricard in earning one save apiece in relief.
Overall, BU is batting .330 and holding opponents to .172 with a 43-18 advantage in doubles and 30-8 lead in stolen bases.

SCOUTING DARTMOUTH

The Big Green are 2-2 in their current homestand with a 2-1 mark against Yale (1-0, 10-2, 3-4) and 5-2 loss to Boston College.
Dartmouth previously dropped a tightly-contested 4-2 decision to Michigan and posted a doubleheader split at Harvard (6-9, 3-0).
Mary Beth Cahalan leads Dartmouth batting .333 with 10 runs scored, while Ashley Frantz is batting .325. Olivia Schramm (.283) owns a team-high 11 RBIs.
Earning a no-hitter against Yale over the weekend for her third shutout of the season, Jensin Hall (4-5, 3.07 ERA) owns an impressive 90 strikeouts in 59.1 innings while holding opponents to just .185 batting average. Rachel McCarroll (2-5, 5.53 ERA) has totaled 23 strikeouts in 43.0 innings.
Overall, Dartmouth is batting .265 while holding opponents to .262.

SERIES HISTORY

BU leads the all-time series, 16-1, and will face the Big Green for the first time since earning a 9-1 (6) home victory in 2019.
The Terriers are visiting Hanover, New Hampshire, for the first time since dropping a 5-4 decision in 2014.

UP NEXT

BU will visit Colgate for a three-game series on Saturday-Sunday (April 6-7).
First pitch is set for 12 p.m. both days.
The Terriers have won the last 23 meetings, including a pair of one-run decisions at home last year (2-1, 6-5).
