HOW IT HAPPENED
- Fritz got the Terriers going just 12 seconds into the game when he won the opening faceoff and scored his third goal of the season.
- Travaglini doubled the Terriers' lead 43 seconds into the contest off a feed from Perfetto.
- Lehigh answered immediately with a goal by their faceoff specialist, Sean Dow, to cut the Terriers' lead to 2-1.
- Perfetto responded to restore a two-goal lead, but back-to-back Lehigh strikes tied the game at 3-3 with 9:21 left.
- Niedringhaus ripped home his 14th goal of the campaign to make it 4-3.
- Lehigh thought it evened the score with four seconds remaining in the first quarter, but BU successfully challenged that the attacker stepped in the crease before the ball crossed the goal line.
- The Terriers began the second quarter on a 3-0 run, starting with a man-up goal by O'Connell.
- Outstanding individual efforts by both Cates and Kelly within a span of 34 seconds extended the lead to 7-3 at 9:04.
- A Quinn Armstrong goal late in the stanza created a 7-4 halftime score.
- Travaglini scored a highlight-reel goal over his shoulder to open the scoring in the third quarter before Kelly converted a slick feed from Cates to push the lead to 9-4.
- The Mountain Hawks scored two straight goals to cut the deficit to 9-6.
- D'Alto's first of the day with 18 seconds left made it 10-6, but Lehigh responded 10 seconds later to make it 10-7 heading into the final 15 minutes.
- Perfetto's second strike of the day exactly 1:00 after a Lehigh goal created an 11-8 score.
- Lehigh got within one thanks to two goals in 43 seconds, but a rocket from Bourque gave BU a 12-10 lead with 5:05 to play.
- The Mountain Hawks scored with 1:27 remaining and then again with 21 seconds to go to force overtime.
- BU got a stop on Lehigh's first possession of OT, but Lehigh's defense also got a stop and Dakota Eierman scored with 51 seconds on the clock to complete the Mountain Hawks' comeback.
