April 8, 2024 | Softball
HAMILTON, N.Y. – After senior Lauren Keleher knocked the first pitch out of the park, the No. 21/23 nationally-ranked Boston University softball team never looked back in a 16-0 run-rule victory at Colgate.
With the series sweep, the Terriers improve to 30-4 and 6-0 in Patriot League play, while the Raiders drop to 13-21 (3-6 PL). Keleher added a two-run blast in the third inning to earn her first career multi-homer performance, and junior Sydney Pecoraro went yard for the first time ever in the fourth.
Overall, nine Terriers combined for 15 hits, one shy of the season high set at Army on March 22. In the circle, graduate student Lizzy Avery (5-0) tallied five strikeouts for the one-hit shutout.
