Hutson Named Hockey East Player of the Week

October 6, 2025

AMESBURY, Mass. - Sophomore Cole Hutson of the Boston University men's ice hockey team has been named Hockey East Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday.

Hutson shined in the Terriers' season-opening win over LIU, scoring the eventual game-winner with a highlight-reel goal early in the third period and providing the primary assist on the first goal of the contest. Hutson then had two assists in Sunday's 3-0 exhibition win over RPI. He was a plus-1 and generated five shots on goal against the Sharks.

The reigning National Rookie of the Year, Hutson collected his 50th career point in just his 40th career game, reaching that milestone one game faster than his brother (and reigning Calder Trophy winner) Lane. Hutson has tallied 15 goals and 35 assists during his impressive Terrier tenure.

BU will return to the ice on Friday when the Terriers begin a two-game series with Colgate at Agganis Arena. Fans can purchase tickets to both tilts by clicking here.
