No. 13/12 Terriers Bested by No. 10/9 Quinnipiac
November 15, 2025 | Men's Ice Hockey
HAMDEN, Conn. — The No. 13/12 Boston University men's ice hockey team fell, 6-2, to the No. 10/9 Quinnipiac Bobcats at M&T Bank Arena on Saturday evening.
The Terriers (5-6-1, 3-3-0 HE) struggled to create chances as they were outflanked from the first period onward by the Bobcats (7-3-2, 1-1-0 ECAC).
Quinnipiac took a 3-0 lead in the first period, outshooting BU 25-8 in the opening frame. The Terriers found scoring in the second period from junior Jack Harvey and sophomore Nick Roukounakis — who made his season debut Saturday.
But the Bobcats had two goals of their own in the second and added a sixth in the third to close out the win.
Sophomore Cole Hutson, junior Aiden Celebrini and freshman Charlie Trethewey all added assists.
In net, sophomore Mikhail Yegorov made 43 saves while Quinnipiac's Matej Marinov made 31 stops. The Terriers were outshot 49-33 overall.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Bobcats got out ahead, capitalizing on a BU turnover in their own defensive zone and potting a goal at 3:06 in the first.
- They then added a second goal after sustained pressure in their offensive zone.
- Yegorov would make 15 saves in the first 11 minutes despite Quinnipiac scoring twice.
- The Bobcats would hit the twine for a third time in the first period, shooting through traffic to make it 3-0 entering the second.
- The best chance the Terriers would have was a shot from a wide-open Cole Eiserman that slid off his stick and went wide.
- At 7:48 the second period, BU earned a power play and set up Eiserman in his office for a one-timer, but the effort was robbed by Marinov.
- After going on the penalty kill, sophomore Cole Hutson forced a turnover in the neutral zone and created a 2-on-1 opportunity at 10:37.
- He saucered the puck to Harvey, who buried the shorthanded chance.
- The Bobcats would quickly respond on that power play, and then added another goal after it ended.
- With 7:06 remaining in the frame, Roukounakis just tried to throw a puck on net as the Terriers entered the offensive zone, and it caromed off a defender's leg and into the net for his first career goal.
- The Terriers would generate a few chances in the third period, including a Sacha Boisvert one-timer that was stuffed and a Cole Hutson 1-on-1 shot that glanced wide with 9:15 remaining.
- Quinnipiac would one-up the Terriers' pressure with another goal, however, putting two shots on Yegorov before finding an uncovered, back-post Markus Vidicek for their sixth tally.
- Roukounakis' goal is his first career tally, making him the ninth Terrier to score their first goal in a scarlet & white sweater this season.
- Hutson is on a seven-game point streak.
- Harvey's shorthanded effort is his first of his career.
- BU has now tallied five shorthanded goals this season.
- Yegorov's 43 saves match his career high set in the Beanpot title game on Feb. 10, 2025 against Boston College.
- BU will play a home-and-home series with Northeastern next Friday, Nov. 21 and Saturday, Nov. 22.
- Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. both nights, with Friday's contest at Matthews Arena and Saturday's at Agganis Arena.
