HOW IT HAPPENED
- Freshman Ryder Ritchie dished the puck to Frechette at the blue line, who flung the puck through traffic and McNelis was able to redirect it past the Northeastern goaltender.
- The Huskies would tie it up just 2:48 later after after Andy Moore tipped in a puck.
- Then with 11:06 remaining, senior Owen McLaughlin would win a puck battle in the offensive zone and swing the puck to junior Jack Harvey in a 2-on-1 situation. Roukounakis received Harvey's cross-crease pass and potted his tally.
- Entering the second period with a 2-1 lead, the Terriers gave up a tying goal at 17:43 in the second off a shot through traffic from the Huskies' Austen May.
- There were a combined eight penalties between the teams in the second period, with each team taking four minors.
- Both teams took matching roughing penalties at 7:45, and the Huskies had two major 1-on-0 chances, but Yegorov stuffed both.
- The Terriers' best chances of the period came from freshman John McNelis, who twice caused turnovers while shorthanded and broke away toward the Northeastern net, but he was saved on both attempts
- McNelis was hooked on his second shot, however, and was awarded a penalty shot — Sigurdson was up to the task however.
- Northeastern went up on a two-man advantage with 3:55 remaining, but BU killed both penalties and earned a power play of their own immediately after.
- In the third, sophomore Cole Hutson made a number of impressive moves to wriggle free for shots, but his efforts went without reward.
- He stuffed a puck into the pad of Sigurdson with 13:07 remaining and celebrated, thinking he had scored, but after review the goal did not count.
- With 1:07 remaining, Connor unleashed a one-timer that beat Yegorov over his left shoulder to win the game.
- McNelis' effort was his first career goal.
- After not scoring in his first 21 collegiate games as a freshman, Roukounakis has now scored in both his appearances this season.
- Six Terriers have scored in back-to-back games so far this year.
- Harvey is on a three-game point streak after tallying an assist.
- Junior Aiden Celebrini finished the game with six blocks, a career-high.
- That number is also the most of any Terrier this season.
- The Terriers and Huskies head back to Comm. Ave. and Agganis Arena for the return game on Saturday (Nov. 22).
- Puck drop is slated for 7 p.m.
