The Terriers (8-6) had two in scoring position in the bottom of the seventh with one out but struck out and grounded out for their second 1-0 loss.

The Terriers (8-6) had two in scoring position in the bottom of the seventh with one out but struck out and grounded out for their second 1-0 loss.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Fordham started off the game with a lead-off bunt single and walk before Ricard ended the threat on a ground out and back-to-back swinging strikeouts.
- Sophomore Libby Walsh earned BU's first hit through the left side in the second with one out, but the Terriers wouldn't manage another until the fifth.
- After junior Aimee Metz and freshman Addie Lucier recorded back-to-back one-out singles, Holly Beeman (4-2) earned a pair fly outs to end the threat.
- In the bottom of the seventh, sophomore Kylie Doherty singled up the middle, took second on Metz's sac bunt and advanced to third on Lucier's single down the right field line.
- After striking out, BU loaded the bases on junior Megan Coyle's walk, but Beeman earned a fly out to center to prevent the Terriers from walking off with a win.
- The Rams started the eighth with a single to right and added a two-out walk to set up a RBI single down the right field line on a 2-2 pitch.
- Throwing 96 pitches in comparison to Ricard's 140, Beeman sealed the shutout victory with three straight line outs, including two to center.
- Lucier earned her first multi-hit game of the season.
- Ricard finished with six strikeouts against four walks, while Beeman had three strikeouts and two walks.
- The contest marked the fourth straight one-run decision in the BU-Fordham series with the Terriers winning the last meeting, 4-3, in 10 innings in Florida back in 2012. BU now leads all-time, 6-1.
- Held scoreless in three straight games for the first time since 2002, the Terriers will have the next week off and return to action at the Winthrop Eagle Classic on March 7-9.
- BU will face Presbyterian, Western Carolina (2x), Winthrop and Queens.
