The Boston University men's lacrosse team will continue its 12th season on Saturday when the Terriers host Loyola Maryland at Nickerson Field. Game time is set for 12 p.m.
Fans can purchase tickets for Saturday's game by clicking here. It will be the first of a lacrosse doubleheader at Nickerson, as the women's team will host Bucknell at 4 p.m. One ticket is good for both games. In addition, anyone with a ticket to Saturday's men's ice hockey game will receive a complimentary ticket to the lacrosse game.
For fans that can't make it to Boston, Saturday's contest will be streamed live on ESPN+.
TERRIER TIDBITS
- BU improved to 5-1 overall and earned its first Patriot League win of the season with a 21-12 victory at Bucknell on March 8.
- Freshman Timothy Shannehan was named Patriot League Rookie of the Week and also earned a spot on the USILA Team of the Week after setting new career highs in assists (5) and points (9)
- He became just the second freshman in program history to record a nine-point game and the first since Chris Gray did it twice in 2018.
- Shannehan now leads the Terriers with 33 points on 16 goals and a team-high 17 assists, and he is also seventh in the NCAA in points per game (5.50) and eighth in the country in assists per game (2.67).
- Not only did Shannehan score four goals but his two running mates in the Terriers' starting attack unit did as well, with senior Jimmy O'Connell and junior Jimmy Kohr each notching four goals and one assist.
- For O'Connell, the four goals marked a career high.
- Kohr paces BU with 18 goals this season.
- The Terriers' man-up unit had a historic day on Saturday at Bucknell, scoring on seven of nine chances against the Bison.
- That is not only a program record, but one of just five known occasions when a Division I men's lacrosse team scored seven man-up goals in a game.
- Senior Will Barnes was named PL Goalkeeper of the Week on Monday.
- Barnes made 12 saves and allowed just 10 goals on Saturday, with five of his stops coming in the second quarter to help BU maintain a three-goal lead heading into halftime.
- The Terriers are third in the nation and second in the Patriot League on the ride, holding opponents to a .721 clearing percentage through six games.
- BU held Bucknell to an 8-for-15 mark in clears last weekend.
HISTORY AGAINST THE GREYHOUNDS
- BU is 5-6 all-time against Loyola, including four wins in the last five contests.
- The Terriers have won four straight regular-season games against the Greyhounds, including a 12-10 triumph in Baltimore on March 16, 2024, and a 16-9 victory at Nickerson on April 15, 2023.
- BU is 3-2 all-time against Loyola at Nickerson.
SCOUTING LOYOLA
- The Greyhounds fell to 0-6 on the season after a 12-11 defeat at Providence on March 8.
- Four of their six losses have been against ranked foes, including one-goal defeats to then-No. 4 Maryland and then-No. 5 Johns Hopkins.
- Junior Henry Haberman set new career highs in goals (4) and points (5) at Providence and currently leads the Greyhounds with nine goals.
- Junior Matthew Minicus paces Loyola with 14 assists and 21 points.
- Senior Remi Reynolds leads the Greyhounds with 23 ground balls and 11 caused turnovers.
- Sophomore Carson Hall has gone 38-of-84 at the faceoff X with 18 ground balls while freshman Mason Graves is 13-of-24 on faceoffs with six ground balls.
- Junior goalkeeper Max Watkinson has started all six games for Loyola, posting an 11.54 goals-against average and a .544 save percentage.
