Murphy, Styles Secure Patriot League Weekly Awards

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Freshman Madden Murphy and sophomore Logan Styles of the Boston University men's lacrosse team each received a Patriot League weekly award, as announced on Monday.
Murphy was named Patriot League Faceoff Specialist of the Week for the second time this year after two outstanding efforts at the X. On Tuesday at Harvard, he went 9-for-14 and matched his career high with five ground balls. He then was a perfect 9-for-9 at the stripe in Saturday's 16-4 win over Holy Cross, picking up five more ground balls in the process. For the season, Murphy ranks 17th in the NCAA, second in the Patriot League and second among all NCAA rookies with a .575 win percentage, going 65-of-113 at the X.
Styles was named Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week for the first time after he combined for four caused turnovers and five ground balls in two games this past week. That included two caused turnovers and three ground balls in the win over Holy Cross. Styles helped the BU defense hold the Crusaders scoreless for the first three quarters of the game before the reserves came in and finished the contest. Styles has 12 caused turnovers and 13 ground balls this season.
