HOW IT HAPPENED
- Graduate student Abby Cotraro scored the first goal of the game off a pass from McDevitt, just 38 seconds into the game.
- The Terriers went down 2-1 and 3-2, but tallies from Geddes and McDevitt brought it even each time in the first.
- Feeney scored the next goal and gave BU a 4-3 lead on a player-up opportunity before the Skyhawks tied it again.
- Once Amonte got her first goal off a free position to make it 5-4 with 4:45 left in the first, the Terriers would never trail again.
- Junior Reilly Walsh scored with 2:20 remaining in the first and gave BU a 6-4 lead headed into the second.
- Cutair scored 2:43 into the second to get the quarter started, and Geddes' free-position goal with 10:27 left made it 8-4.
- Senior Elle Stevenson tucked home a shot off a pass from Cutair with 8:05 left and Feeney added a free-position tally to give BU 10 goals heading into the half compared to the Skyhawks' seven.
- Stonehill opened the third quarter with three straight goals.
- BU replaced junior Natalie Aiosa with junior Zoe Inglis in net with 7:41 left in the third, and then the Terriers went on a four-goal run.
- Immediately tested, Inglis recorded her first save of the season and the Skyhawks appeared to score immediately afterwards, but it was waved off due to a crease violation.
- With momentum swung the Terriers' way, Walsh added another goal, then junior Alex Cutone scored off a low shot. Geddes' third goal, an individual effort from the top of the zone, made it 13-10 entering the fourth quarter.
- McDevitt would score again just 1:13 into the fourth before the Skyhawks cut the run with a goal.
- BU would head on another run, though, beginning with a player-up goal from Amonte off a Cutair pass.
- Amonte scored again to make it 16-11 just 18 seconds later.
- Feeney scored twice in the span of 11 seconds with 8:21 and 8:10 remaining to further BU's lead to 18-11.
- Stonehill kept pushing back, however, scoring three straight and cutting the BU lead to just 18-14 with 4:50 remaining.
- Senior Leah Hodgins killed the momentum as she notched a goal with 3:22 left.
- Cutone and McDevitt would add tallies and the Terriers would hold on for a 21-14 win.
- 21 goals is the most the Terriers have scored in a game since Feb. 16, 2020, a 22-4 win over Hartford.
- This is just the third time the Terriers have scored 20-plus goals in the past six seasons.
- BU won the draw battle, 20-18, with sophomore Kaitlyn Barton reeling in 12 draw controls.
- Dating back to last season, Geddes is on an eight-game goals streak.
- Geddes was the last Terrier freshman to record a hat trick before McDevitt's, tallying three goals against Colgate on April 17, 2024.
- Cutair and McDevitt are the first freshmen to record five points in a game since Hannah Kenneally did so in an April 28, 2019 game against Colgate.
- The Terriers are now 3-0 against the Skyhawks all-time.
- The Terriers will next head to Fairfield on Saturday (Feb. 14) for a Valentine's Day matchup with the Stags. Opening draw is set for 4 p.m.
