Hendry Named Hockey East Player of the Week

BOSTON - After leading the Boston University women's ice hockey team to a weekend sweep of Union College with four points, senior co-captain Cara Hendry was named Hockey East TPS Player of the Week, as announced by the league on Monday.

Hendry registered her first three-point effort of the season on Saturday in BU’s 4-1 win over Union, picking up a goal and two assists on the day. The Calgary, Alta., native also took a season-high six shots in the game. On Sunday, Hendry added another assist to push BU over Union, 4-2. Hendry is currently riding a four-game point streak in which she is averaging 1.5 points per game.

Sophomore Erin Seman was also recognized by the conference, earning a spot on the HE honor roll after a three-point weekend, including a season-high two goals on Sunday.

Hendry looks to continue her current streak when the Terriers travel to Hamden, Conn., to face Quinnipiac University on Wednesday. The puck is scheduled to drop at 7 p.m.
