BOSTON - After tallying five points in BU’s last two outings, freshman Melissa Anderson (Langley, B.C.) was named Hockey East Mission Hockey Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league on Monday. Anderson extended her current point-streak to four games, and is third in the nation for points per game among rookies (1.43).
Anderson recorded a goal and two assists during BU’s 4-3 win over Quinnipiac on Wednesday evening, registering one of the assists on Gina Kearns’ game-winning goal with 5:13 remaining in regulation.
On Saturday, Anderson picked up two more points, opening the scoring to give BU the 1-0 lead, and assisting on BU’s second goal.
The starting forward line of Anderson, sophomore Erin Seman and senior Cara Hendry combined for 21 of BU’s 40 points during the last five games. Anderson will look to extend her point streak to five games when Brown University visits Walter Brown Arena Tuesday night at 7 p.m.
