WAKEFIELD, Mass. - After recording four assists in two non-conference wins against Princeton, freshman Marie-Philip Poulin of the No. 5 Boston University women's ice hockey team was today named Pro Ambitions' Hockey East Rookie of the Week, the league office announced.
With BU's wins on Nov. 26-27, the Beauceville, Que., native helped the Terriers improve to 11-2-3 overall and 5-0-0 against teams from ECAC Hockey in 2010-11. She recorded two assists in each game, including one off a great individual effort that produced the game-winning goal on Saturday.
Poulin, who has played just 12 games, leads all Hockey East freshmen in goals (11), assists (12) and points (23). The forward was named Hockey East Rookie of the Month in October and the conference's player of the week on Oct. 18.
The Terriers will return to Hockey East action on Saturday (Dec. 4) when they visit Connecticut. Opening faceoff is set at 1 p.m.
