
Wakefield, Poulin Receive Weekly Honors

WAKEFIELD, Mass. - Junior Jenn Wakefield and freshman Marie-Philip Poulin of the No. 3 Boston University women’s ice hockey team have been named Hockey East’s Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week, respectively, the league office announced.
The pair helped BU (14-2-3, 5-1-3 HEA) close out the fall semester with a 3-0 win over Northeastern on Tuesday and a 5-3 triumph against Harvard on Friday.
Wakefield recorded four points (2g, 2a) during the two games, including a three-point effort (1g, 2a) against Harvard. The Pickering, Ont., native, who was named Hockey East Player of the Week on Oct. 4, also tallied a game-high 11 shots on goal against the Huskies.
Poulin notched three goals during the week, including a pair of markers against the Crimson. She collected 11 shots, including a game-high eight against Harvard, in the two contests. Poulin was tabbed Hockey East Player of the Week on Oct. 18 and the conference’s top rookie on Nov. 29. She also garnered Hockey East Rookie of the Month recognition in October.
Both Wakefield and Poulin lead the Terriers in goals (15), assists (13), points (28) and power-play goals (4).
The Terriers will return to action on Jan. 2 when they visit Brown.
