After becoming the program's first-ever All-American and helping the Terriers reach the national title game, graduate student Catherine Ward was named the most valuable player of the 2010-11 Boston University women's ice hockey team.
Despite being member of the BU defensive corps for just one season, Ward left a lasting mark on the program. In addition to earning ACHA Second Team All-America honors, she was named a Hockey East First Team All-Star and also received the league's Best Defenseman Award.
The Montreal, Que., native ranked third among the nation's defensemen in assists (27) and tied for fifth in points (31).
