WAKEFIELD, Mass. - Two members of the No. 3 Boston University women's ice hockey team won weekly honors on Monday, as junior co-captain Marie-Philip Poulin was picked as Co-Player of the Week and junior goaltender Kerrin Sperry was selected as Defensive Player of the Week.
Poulin was recognized thanks to six points (3g, 3a) in three games. She was at her best against No. 2 Cornell on Sunday, as she scored two goals and added an assist in the Terriers' 5-1 win. She scored her first goal of the year on Saturday against the Big Red and also had an assist in a 4-1 win over No. 7 Northeastern on Tuesday.
The Beauceville, Que., native now has 11 points (3g, 8a), which is tops among league skaters. She also leads Hockey East in assists and has notched at least one point in all six games this year.

On Sunday against Cornell, Sperry stopped 22 shots and allowed just one goal in the 5-1 win. She also matched a season high with 29 saves on Saturday night.
The North Reading, Mass., native is now second in Hockey East in both goals-against average (1.95) and save percentage (.921). Sperry's five victories lead all other league goaltenders, and three of her wins this year have come against ranked opponents.
The Terriers, who were named Hockey East Team of the Week, will host Maine on Friday night at Walter Brown Arena. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m.
