
Sperry Named Hockey East Goaltender of the Month

WAKEFIELD, Mass. - Senior goaltender Kerrin Sperry of the Boston University women's ice hockey team was named Hockey East Goaltender of the Month, the league office announced Wednesday.
Sperry was superb in November, posting a 1.50 goals-against average and a .944 save percentage with a 6-2-0 record in eight starts for the Terriers, including a 5-0-0 mark in Hockey East play. Both of her shutouts this season came in November, including a 28-save performance against St. Cloud State on Nov. 15 in Vail, Colo. Her other blemish-free effort was on Nov. 2 when she made 28 saves against Vermont.
The North Reading, Mass., native allowed two goals or less in six of her eight starts, including all five league appearances, and made 185 total saves. Sperry was named Defensive Player of the Week twice in the month (Nov. 4 and 25). She currently owns an 11-2-1 record with a 1.63 GAA and a .945 save percentage.
BU will conclude its first semester when it welcomes Minnesota Duluth to Walter Brown Arena for a weekend series that begins Friday at 5 p.m.
