
No. 6 BU, Northeastern Renew Rivalry on Tuesday

The sixth-ranked Boston University women's ice hockey team will welcome Northeastern to Walter Brown Arena on Tuesday night. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m.
In conjunction with Veterans Day, BU will be celebrating Military Appreciation Night on Tuesday. There will be free admission for all current/former military personnel with ID and their guests. BU ROTC students and staff can also receive free admission. Simply show a valid military ID at the Walter Brown Arena box office before the game starting at 6 p.m. and you, as well as any guests will be given free admission.
Additionally, the first 300 fans will receive a free BU hockey camo hat. During the game, there will be a special presentation of the Colors by the BU ROTC Honor Guard and special in game recognition of all military members in attendance.
BU (6-2-1, 3-1-0 WHEA) has won its last two league games and is unbeaten in its last three games overall (2-0-1) after a 4-4 tie with Yale on Saturday. The Terriers began that stretch with a 3-2 victory over Northeastern (2-5-3, 1-3-0 WHEA) on Oct. 28. BU improved to 25-9-5 all-time against Northeastern with that victory and the Terriers have won eight of the last 10 meetings.
Senior Shannon Doyle enters Tuesday with a six-game point streak (1g, 7a) and collected her first two-assist game since Feb. 3, 2012, on Saturday at Yale. Doyle is a plus-6 since her point streak began and she has also blocked 15 shots during that stretch. In addition, Doyle has either scored or assisted on the team's last three power-play markers.
Junior Sarah Lefort leads the team in scoring with 13 points (6g, 7a). She has tallied at least two points six different times this season and she also fired a season-high nine shots on goal on Saturday. The Terriers are 4-0-1 this season when Lefort lights the lamp and 5-0-1 when she has at least one point.
The Huskies have gone 1-2-0 since they faced the Terriers on Oct. 28, with the one win coming on Oct. 30 at New Hampshire, a 2-0 triumph. NU lost, 6-1, to top-ranked Boston College this past Saturday. 2014 Olympic silver medalist Kendall Coyne leads the team in points (11), goals (5) and assists (6). The junior forward missed each of the last two games while on Four Nations duty with Team USA.
Sophomore Heather Mottau is second in points with six while freshman Lauren Kelly is next on the list with three goals to her credit. Senior Chloe Desjardins has started all 10 games between the pipes and owns a 1.93 goals-against average with a .934 save percentage.
The Terriers will play their first home-and-home series of the season this weekend against Connecticut. BU will skate at UConn on Saturday before the Terriers welcome the Huskies on Sunday. Both games will be at 3 p.m.
