November 6, 2014 | Women's Ice Hockey
WAKEFIELD, Mass. – Freshman Rebecca Leslie of the Boston University women’s ice hockey team has been named Hockey East Rookie of the Month, the league office announced on Thursday.
Leslie was terrific in her first month as a Terrier. She finished October with more points (7) and assists (4) than any other Hockey East rookie. Leslie was the only WHEA freshman to average a point per game in October and she also tied for the league lead among freshmen with three goals.
Nationally, Leslie’s seven points in October ranked her sixth among all rookie skaters. She was also tied for second among non-Ivy League freshmen with a shooting percentage of .273 through seven games. Currently, Leslie is tied for seventh in all of Hockey East with eight points and has played on the Terriers’ most consistent line this season.
BU will be back in action on Nov. 8 when the Terriers trek to Yale. Game time is set for 3 p.m.
