
Dearth Named Patriot League Rookie of the Week

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Freshman Cal Dearth of the Boston University men's lacrosse team was named Patriot League Rookie of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.
Dearth set program records with four assists and six points on Saturday to help lead BU to the program's first-ever victory, as 12-7 triumph at Lafayette. He also tallied two goals and collected two ground balls in the victory. Dearth factored on three of the Terriers’ six first-half goals and had a goal and an assist in a four-goal fourth quarter.
The Ridgefield, Conn., native now has four goals and five assists for nine points this season. Seven of his nine points have come in the last three games. Dearth is also second on the team with 17 ground balls this season. He is the second Terrier to earn Rookie of the Week honors in as many weeks; Ryan Johnston won the award last week after his five-goal game against Colgate.
BU will go for its second straight victory when the Terriers trek to Bucknell on Saturday. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
