The Boston University women's ice hockey team will host Maine for a weekend series at Walter Brown Arena that begins on Saturday at 3 p.m. Sunday's showdown is also slated to begin at 3.

BU (6-6-0, 4-3-0 WHEA) defeated Maine (6-6-0, 3-4-0 WHEA), 4-2, in Orono on Oct. 4 thanks to two goals from freshman Sammy Davis, including the game-winner with 3:01 remaining in regulation. BU erased a 2-0 deficit in that contest, with junior Victoria Hanson stopping all 14 shots she faced after entering the game in the second stanza.

Junior Maddie Elia has torched Maine for three goals and six assists, totaling nine points over seven career games. Seniors Kayla Tutino and Rebecca Russo each have four goals and four assists for eight career points against the Black Bears, while classmate Senior Sarah Lefort has 11 career points (3g, 8a) against Maine. Sophomores Victoria Bach and Rebecca Leslie have each recorded two goals and three assists in their brief careers against the Black Bears.

Leslie is one of the NCAA leaders in assists this season entering the weekend. She is tied for fourth in the nation and tied for third in Hockey East with 13 assists. Leslie is also 11th in the NCAA and fifth in Hockey East with 17 points (4g, 13a). The Ottawa, Ontario, native logged 17 assists all of last season and is on pace to shatter her point total of 31 from a year ago.

BU will look to continue its strong work on the penalty kill from its two games against BC, including a hard-fought 4-3 loss in overtime on Tuesday. The Terriers held the BC power play, which entered Tuesday with a 33.3 percent success rate, to an 0-of-3 mark in the loss. BU has now killed off 15 of its last 16 penalties over the last four tilts and was 4-of-5 on the PK against BC over the two-game set.

The Black Bears also played on Tuesday night and they earned a 4-1 win at Dartmouth. Maine has won five of its last seven games entering this weekend. Senior Audra Richards and sophomore Brooke Stacey are each tied for the team lead in goals (6) and points (9). Senior Brooklyn Langlois leads Maine with four assists and classmate Meghann Treacy owns a 2.12 goals-against average and a .934 save percentage in 11 starts.

Following this weekend's series, the Terriers will play Merrimack for the first time in program history. The two squads will begin a home-and-home series at Merrimack on Nov. 20 at 7 p.m.
