Men's Lacrosse Enters National Poll
March 23, 2015 | Men's Lacrosse
BOSTON - The Boston University men's lacrosse team entered the Cascade/Maverik media poll at No. 19, marking the first time in program history that the Terriers are a nationally-ranked squad.
BU is the first school since 2009 to earn a national ranking in just its second year in Division I. The Terriers won their fourth straight game on Saturday with an 11-9 triumph over Bucknell. They are 6-2 overall and 3-1 in the Patriot League entering Saturday.
The Terriers have surged to success this season thanks to an offense that ranks ninth in the country with an average of 13.13 goals per game. Sophomore Sam Talkow's dominance at the faceoff X has also been a factor, as he is second in the NCAA with a .705 win percentage.
More history will be made this weekend as BU makes its debut on national television this Saturday at Navy in a battle for first place in the Patriot League. CBS Sports Network will broadcast the game live at 12 p.m.
