HYANNIS, Mass. - Freshman Victoria Bach of the Boston University women's ice hockey team was named Hockey East Rookie of the Year and four other Terriers earned league all-star selections, as announced at the 13th Annual Women's Hockey East Awards Banquet on Friday night.

Bach becomes the second player in program history to be named as the league's top rookie after Marie-Philip Poulin earned the honor in 2010-11. Poulin was unanimously picked as a Hockey East First-Team All-Star after a sensational senior season. Classmate Shannon Doyle, along with juniors Sarah Lefortand Kayla Tutino, were all second-team selections.

A native of Milton, Ontario, Bach finished the regular season as the top rookie goal scorer in the country, tallying 18 times. She led all league rookies with six power play goals and was third in points with 27 (18g, 9a). Bach helped pace the BU offense with an average of 3.03 shots on goal per game, which was also tops among WHEA freshmen. She had five multi-point games during the regular season, scored three game-winning goals and lit the lamp in 16 contests, which was the most of any NCAA freshman.

Poulin was terrific in her final year at BU en route to her unanimous first-team nod. In just 27 regular-season games, she tallied 21 goals and 21 assists for 42 points, which ranked fifth among league skaters. Poulin also won 62.6 percent of her faceoffs and wasnamed Hockey East Best Defensive Forward.

Unanimously named as the league's top player a season ago, Lefort logged an impressive junior campaign in 2014-15. She was fourth in the league with 22 regular-season goals and also ranked fourth among WHEA skaters with 43 points. Lefort was the only player in the country to record three hat tricks and she also factored on nine game-winning goals.

Tutino came back from a season-ending injury last year to be one of the top skaters in Hockey East this season. She was 12th in the league with 29 regular-season points on nine goals and 20 assists. Tutino helped revitalize the BU offense in the second half of the season and was sixth among all league players with 15 points (7g, 8a) since Jan. 7.

Doyle capped her collegiate career with her second standout season at BU. The runner-up for the Hockey East Best Defenseman award, Doyle finished the regular season fourth in the NCAA and first in the league with 92 blocked shots. She was a plus-27 and was a plus player in 20 of her 33 games. Doyle finished tied for seventh amongst WHEA blue liners with 18 assists and her 21 points ranked sixth on the team.

BU will face Northeastern in the second Hockey East semifinal on Saturday at 4:30 p.m.
