TORONTO, Ont. - Former Boston University women's ice hockey standout Marie-Philip Poulin was selected third overall by Montreal at the 2015 Canadian Women's Hockey League (CWHL) draft on Sunday.

Poulin, who graduated BU in 2015 as the program's all-time leader in goals (81), assists (100) and points (181), was a first-round selection by Montreal. Poulin will play close to home, as she grew up in Beauceville, Quebec. She becomes the second Terrier to be drafted by a professional league this summer, as senior Sarah Lefort was chosen eighth by the Buffalo Beauts of the National Women's Hockey League in June.

This will be Poulin's second stint in the CWHL. She played for Montreal as a 16-year-old in 2007-08, scoring 22 goals and adding 21 assists in just 16 games en route to being named to the CWHL All-Rookie Team.

A two-time Olympic gold medalist, Poulin helped lead BU to its fourth straight Hockey East championship in 2014-15. She was a first-team All-American and was a top-three finalist for the Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award, finishing the year with 54 points on 27 goals and 27 assists.

In addition to Poulin being drafted by Montreal, Shannon Doyle (2015 graduate) and Kaleigh Fratkin ('14) each signed a contract this summer to play for the Connecticut Whale of the NWHL.
