October 31, 2016 | Women's Ice Hockey
BOSTON - The Boston University women's ice hockey team took advantage of a weekend off from competition to skate with the East Coast Jumbos on Saturday at Walter Brown Arena.
The Jumbos are part of the American Special Hockey Association. Created in 2000 for players with developmental disabilities, the ASHA gives people of all ages and abilities a chance to learn and grow by playing hockey.
The Terriers and over 30 members of the Jumbos completed a joint practice before breaking off into teams and scrimmaging. They then enjoyed a pizza party and spent time getting to know each other to conclude a terrific day on and off the ice.
