November 7, 2016 | Women's Ice Hockey
WAKEFIELD, Mass. - Graduate student Mary Parker of the Boston University women's ice hockey team was named Hockey East Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.
Parker was instrumental in helping the Terriers salvage a split of their weekend series with No. 4 Boston College. After recording an assist on Friday night, Parker totaled four points (1g, 3a) to help BU erase a 3-1 third-period deficit and defeat the Eagles, 5-3. Parker assisted on the Terriers' first goal of the game before cutting the deficit to 3-2 with her seventh marker of the season. She then forced a turnover and dished the puck to junior Nina Rodgers for an empty-netter that sealed the result.
A native of Milton, Massachusetts, Parker now leads the Terriers with 14 points thanks to seven goals and seven assists.
