The Boston University men's lacrosse team will face No. 14/15 Harvard on Tuesday night at Harvard Stadium. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
Tuesday's tilt will be broadcast locally on NESNplus and will also be available online on the Ivy League Digital Network. The Terriers are 1-0 on TV this season, having defeated Canisius, 10-8, on Time Warner Cable in New York.
BU (6-2, 2-1 PL) had a three-game win streak snapped on Saturday with a 13-6 loss at Bucknell. The Terriers and the Bison were deadlocked, 4-4, at halftime before Bucknell finished the game on a 9-2 run. Freshman James Burr and sophomore Jack Wilson each notched two goals while junior Cal Dearth led the Terriers with three points (1g, 2a). Junior Greg Wozniak matched a career high with eight ground balls and classmate Sam Talkow was 11-of-16 at the faceoff X with six ground balls.
Talkow has won 69.6 percent of the faceoffs he has taken this season, which ranks third in the country. Harvard enters Tuesday having won just 38 percent of its draws, with both of its main specialists facing off at around 40 percent.
Dearth has been terrific since returning to the Terrier lineup against Navy on Feb. 27. He has recorded 14 points on six goals and eight assists thanks to four straight multi-point games. Wilson has been equally as electric, posting eight straight multi-point games. Wilson, Burr and freshman Brendan Homire have secured at least one point in every contest this season.
Harvard (4-3, 0-1 Ivy League) has lost three straight games, most recently to then-No. 5 Brown, 11-8, on Saturday at Harvard Stadium. Harvard began the season 4-0 with three straight overtime wins and has defeated ranked teams in Duke and Villanova.
Senior Devin Dwyer leads the Crimson in goals (21), assists (15) and points (36) and is second in the country in shot percentage (.636). Three other players, all sophomores, have at least 10 points - Morgan Cheek (13g, 11a), Joe Lang (12g, 6a) and Sean Coleman (5g, 7a). Sophomore goalkeeper Robert Shaw has started all seven games with a 10.93 goals-against average and a .521 save percentage.
The Terriers will return to Patriot League play on Saturday, March 26, when they travel to Lafayette. Game time is slated for 1 p.m.
