From a pool of nearly 400 applicants, 15 men and 15 women were selected to the 2018-19 class, as Clark was one of 16 college coaches that were named to the list.
"Emma is so deserving of this prestigious selection," commented head coach Nancy Feldman. "Over a very short period of time, she has developed into a top-notch coaching professional. This opportunity will only add to her level of expertise and a successful future as a collegiate coach."
Now in her third season as an assistant coach, Clark has played in integral roll in BU's command on the Patriot League, as the Terriers claimed the 2016 championship in her first season on staff. Additionally, Clark has coached 12 All-Patriot League Team selections, a two-time Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year and one Rookie of the Year.
After graduating from Boston University's College of Communication in 2014, Clark became a volunteer assistant coach at Maine before being promoted to an assistant coach prior to the 2015 season. While with the Black Bears, she helped guide the team to the America East Tournament semifinal round and coached a two-time America East Defender of the Year, an America East Rookie of the Year, an America East Goalkeeper of the year and 10 All-America East selections.
Clark played in the midfield for the Terriers from 2010-2013, helping the team win two America East Championships in 2010 and 2011 and a Patriot League Championship in the program's first year in the conference in 2013. She was named to the NSCAA All-Region team and to the all-conference first team as a junior and senior and made three NCAA Tournament appearances with the Terriers.
Launched in 2013, the United Soccer Coaches 30 Under 30 Program is a year-long education and mentorship opportunity for a select few up-and-comers who have made soccer coaching their career of choice. The United Soccer Coaches 30 Under 30 Program is designed to give participants exposure to membership, and the opportunity to take advantage of educational offerings, such as diplomas and the United Soccer Coaches Convention.
