KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Adding to their list of postseason accolades, Boston University women's soccer team standouts
Anna Heilferty and
Dorrie Varley-Barrett have earned spots on the United Soccer Coaches All-North Region teams, as announced by the organization Monday.
Heilferty followed her 2017 Patriot League Rookie of the Year season with a stellar sophomore campaign to be recognized on the All-Region First Team. Heilferty led the team in goals (6), assists (6) and points (18). The 2018 Patriot League Tournament MVP racked up three goals and four assists during conference play and produced at least one point in six of nine Patriot League contests.
Varley-Barrett capped her career with a nod to the All-Region Third Team. The three-time All-Patriot League selection captained the Terriers to return to the top of the league, as BU won its first conference title since Varley-Barrett's freshman season in 2015. One of the premier midfields in the league, Varley-Barrett helped BU tie for the league lead with a 1.22 scoring margin in conference action, while also playing an instrumental role in guiding the backline to 11 shutouts.
