Nancy Feldman to Receive Women's Soccer Award of Excellence

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Coming off her 400th career victory as a collegiate head coach, Nancy Feldman has been selected for the Women's Soccer Award of Excellence, sponsored by Women and Girls in Soccer (WAGS). She will be officially honored at the Coaches of Women's Soccer Breakfast on Saturday, Jan. 12 at the 2019 United Soccer Coaches Convention in Chicago.
Established in 1999, the Women's Soccer Award of Excellence is presented each year in recognition of those who have brought honor and distinction to women's soccer. WAGS has supplied sponsorship funds for this award to be used in the promotion of the women's game through various inner-city programs. Funds have also been donated to charities that promote female soccer participation.
"Nancy Feldman is a world-class coach, educator, and role model," said United Soccer Coaches President Lesle Gallimore. "She has consistently dedicated herself to promoting and advocating for women and the women's game. She is so very deserving of the Women's Award of Excellence."
A United Soccer Coaches member since 1985, Feldman is in her 24th season at the helm of the Terriers. She is among the top 15 winningest active coaches in women's college soccer and won her 400th career game on Sunday as the Terriers captured the Patriot League Tournament title for their 13th conference championship in program history. Feldman has served as a leading ambassador for college soccer, women's soccer and coaching education over the course of her career.
A member of the United Soccer Coaches Academy Staff, she was the 2010 Mike Berticelli Excellence in Coaching Education Award recipient and holds her Premier Diploma. In addition, Feldman has chaired numerous United Soccer Coaches committees to support the annual Convention, as well as the regional and national awards and rankings programs.
During her tenure leading the Terrier program, Feldman's teams have captured 13 regular season championships and 13 conference tournament titles as members of the America East Conference and now Patriot League. This season, the Terriers are making their 14th NCAA Tournament appearance. She is an 11-time Conference Coach of the Year honoree and has twice earned United Soccer Coaches Region Coach of the Year accolades.
