CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Sophomore Joe McSorley and senior Jack Wilson of the Boston University men's lacrosse team were both named to the Academic All-Patriot League Team, the conference office announced on Wednesday.
This is the third straight year that Wilson has earned a spot on the Academic All-Patriot League squad. He recorded a 3.45 grade-point average and will graduate in May with a degree in business administration and management from the Questrom School of Business. Wilson received a Scarlet Key in the fall, which is one of the University's most prestigious honors. On the field, Wilson earned Second Team All-Patriot League honors after scoring 25 goals and adding 15 assists for 40 points. He finished the regular season with a 57-game point streak, which he extended in Tuesday's Patriot League quarterfinal win at Bucknell.
McSorley received this recognition in his first year of eligibility. The sophomore netminder posted a 3.76 GPA in the Questrom School of Business and has been a three-time Dean's List selection. He has done all this while also backstopping the Terriers to their second straight Patriot League semifinal appearance in his first year as the team's starter. He finished the regular season as the conference leader in both save percentage (.523) and saves per game (11.50). McSorley stopped at least 10 shots in all but two tilts, including a stretch of seven straight games prior to the postseason.
BU will face top-seeded Loyola Maryland on Friday in a Patriot League semifinal contest. The game will be broadcast live on CBS Sports Network at 4:30 p.m.
