
Terriers Announce 2018 Team Awards

Rising sophomore Chris Gray took home three awards have his All-American season. He was selected as the team's Most Valuable Player in addition to being named the Offensive Player of the Year. Gray also received recognition as the Best Newcomer. The Patriot League Rookie of the Year set new single-season program records with 71 points and 40 assists in addition to his 30 goals.
Joe McSorley was chosen as the Defensive Player of the Year after a sensational sophomore season. In his first year as the starting goalkeeper, McSorley finished 12th in the entire NCAA and first in the Patriot League with an average of 11.59 saves per game. He was also second in the Patriot League with a .520 save percentage.
Rising sophomore Sean Christman took home the award for Most Improved Player after a fantastic debut season. Christman appeared in 15 games and took the opening faceoff in six of those contests, including both of the Terriers' postseason contests. He finished the year with a win percentage of .531 at the X and gathered 63 ground balls. One of his season highlights came in the Terriers' Patriot League semifinal game at then-No. 6 Loyola Maryland when he went a career-best 18-of-25 (.720) with eight ground balls. Christman also went 16-of-24 at the X and recorded nine ground balls against eventual NCAA runner-up Duke.
Tommy Connelly, who graduated this past May, earned the Community Service Award. Connelly organized the team's participation in the Bike to the Beach, a 100-mile bike ride from Boston to Newport, Rhode Island, that raises money and awareness for autism. Thanks to Connelly's efforts, the Terriers raised over $29,000, the second most raised by any group that took part in the New England event. In its three years of work with Bike to the Beach, the team has raised more than $78,000. Connelly was also active in the squad's charitable efforts with Harlem Lacrosse and the Crossroads School.
Rising senior Eamon Hunter received the team's Fitness Award for his tremendous work ethic in the strength and conditioning room. Hunter holds the team hex bar deadlift at 625 pounds. Hunter also showed improvement in three other lifts (bench, front squat, hang clean) as well as his vertical jump throughout the year, setting a terrific example for the rest of his teammates.
Another member of the Class of 2018, Jack Wilson, took home the Terrier Award, which is given to the player who best exemplifies excellence in academics, athletics and community. Wilson was a USILA Scholar All-American, a Scarlet Key recipient and a three-time Patriot League All-Academic honoree in 2018 while finishing his career with a 60-game point streak. Wilson also earned Second Team All-Patriot League honors for the second straight season. He scored a career-high 30 goals and added 17 assists to match his career best of 47 points.
