Women's Ice Hockey Announces Class of 2022

BOSTON - The Boston University women's ice hockey team will welcome seven freshmen to the program as part of the Class of 2022, head coach Brian Durocher announced on Wednesday.
"My staff and I are excited to welcome the Class of 2022 to Boston University," Durocher said. "Each of the seven talented student-athletes will bring elite contributions to our program and this institution over the next four years. They arrive at BU with a tremendous foundation of academic and athletic success during their preparatory years."
Alex Allan is the lone defender in the Class of 2022. The Terriers will add two new goaltenders, Nicole McGuigan and Kate Stuart, to their roster for the first time since the Class of 2017 arrived at BU prior to the 2013-14 campaign. Forwards Courtney Correia, Kaleigh Donnelly, Mackenna Parker and Emma Wuthrich complete the impressive group of newcomers.
"I would like to extend my sincere thanks to Liz Keady Norton and Tara Watchorn for their tireless and most thorough efforts in bringing this group to campus," Durocher said. "Each newcomer has talent, intelligence and leadership qualities that will allow them to continue the tradition of excellence with Boston University women's ice hockey."
Alex Allan (Abbotsford, B.C./Pacific Steelers)
BEFORE BOSTON UNIVERSITY
Played for the Pacific Steelers and was an assistant captain during the 2017-18 season ... Finished last year with 24 points thanks to nine goals and 15 assists as a defender ... Finished her JWHL career with two straight second-team all-star selections ... Helped Team BC to consecutive third-place finishes at the 2017 and 2016 National Women's U18 Championships ... Also played volleyball.
Courtney Correia (Whitby, Ont./Toronto Aeros)
BEFORE BOSTON UNIVERSITY
Earned a bronze medal with Canada's U18 Team at the 2018 IIHF World Women's U18 Championship ... Also took part in the 2017 Team Canada U18 Summer Showcase and the 2017 Canada U18 Strength and Conditioning Camp ... Played each of the past two seasons with the Toronto Aeros, serving as an assistant captain this past year ... Led the Aeros to a PWHL title as well as a provincial title in 2017-18 ... Served as an assistant captain and helped guide Team Ontario Blue to a silver medal at the U18 National Championship ... Selected as Player of the Game in the gold-medal contest ... Was her class' Outstanding Athlete of the Year all four years at Dunbarton High School ... Twice won a provincial championship in field hockey and was also a two-time LOSSA champion in field hockey ... Was captain of her high school field hockey team ... Also ran track and cross country as well as played badminton and soccer in high school.
Kaleigh Donnelly (Wellesley, Mass./North American Hockey Academy)
BEFORE BOSTON UNIVERSITY
Spent each of the last three seasons at the North American Hockey Academy, serving as captain during the 2017-18 campaign ... Won two straight U19 JWHL championships with NAHA and also claimed the U16 JWHL title as a sophomore ... Finished the 2017-18 regular season with 41 points thanks to nine goals and 32 assists before she tallied two goals and one assist during the postseason ... Invited to USA Hockey National Camp each of the past four years ... Teammates at NAHA with classmate Emma Wuthrich ... Also played lacrosse and soccer.
Nicole McGuigan (Huntington, N.Y./Choate Rosemary Hall)
BEFORE BOSTON UNIVERSITY
Played three seasons at Choate Rosemary Hall and was the starting goaltender as a senior co-captain ... Also started in goal for the Mid Fairfield U16 prep team as a junior ... As a freshman on the Cold Spring Harbor boys varsity team, earned MVP honors from the Nassau Country High School Hockey League ... Also played field hockey and lacrosse at Choate ... Organized a sled hockey event during her junior and senior year to raise money for the Gaylord Wolfpack sled hockey teams.
Mackenna Parker (Cavet, Sask./Saskatoon Stars)

Selected by Hockey Canada as the 2018 Isobel Gathorne-Hardy Female Player of the Year, an award which is given annually to the player that most demonstrates good values, leadership and strong community involvement ... Earned a bronze medal with Canada's U18 Team at the 2018 IIHF World Women's U18 Championship ... Also skated for Canada's U18 squad at the 2016 summer series against the United States ... Played four seasons for the Saskatoon Stars, serving as captain during the 2017-18 campaign in which she won MVP honors ... Led the league in goals (33) and points (60) during the 2017-18 regular season before tallying seven points (5g, 2a) en route to winning the league title ... Led all scorers at the 2018 Esso Cup and was named MVP of the tournament as Saskatoon finished second ... Won bronze with Team Saskatchewan at the most recent U18 National Championship ... Was a three-time SFMAAAHL First Team All-Star ... Also competed in track and field.
Kate Stuart (Chilliwack, B.C./Toronto Leaside Jr. Wildcats)
BEFORE BOSTON UNIVERSITY
Played for Toronto Leaside Jr. Wildcats of the PWHL ... Finished 2017-18 season with a 13-4-1 record thanks to a 1.10 goals-against average and a .955 save percentage ... Was invited to Canada's U-18 selection camp ...Claimed back-to-back bronze medals with British Columbia at the 2016 and 2017 National Women's Under-18 Championships ... Played the 2016-17 season with Pursuit of Excellence, earning CSSHL All-Academic honors ... Posted a .942 save percentage and a 1.56 GAA as a sophomore ... Also played basketball.
Emma Wuthrich (Anchorage, Alaska/North American Hockey Academy)
BEFORE BOSTON UNIVERSITY
Played three seasons at North American Hockey Academy, captaining the U19 squad this past season ... Tallied 79 points (38g, 41a) in 68 games last season to help her team win its second straight JWHL championship ... Led the league with 44 points (21g, 23a) during the regular season ... Was a JWHL First Team All-Star, the Liz Turgeon Player of the Year and the league's offensive player of the year in 2017-18 ... During the 2016-17 season, scored 26 goals and added 30 assists in 75 points ... Also claimed a U16 title with NAHA in 2015-16 when she recorded 71 points (22g, 49a) in 67 games ...
