
Schroeder Named National Goaltender of the Month

WAKEFIELD, Mass. - Sophomore goaltender Corinne Schroeder of the Boston University women's ice hockey team was named National Goaltender of the Month by Women's Hockey Commissioners Association on Monday.
Schroeder was nearly unbeatable in four December starts for BU. She posted a .964 save percentage, best among Division I goalies that made at least two starts, and a 1.02 goals-against average en route to a 3-0-1 record in the final month of 2018. Schroeder began the month with a 37-save performance in a 4-2 win over BC on Dec. 1 and then followed that by stopping 49 of the 50 shots she faced in a weekend sweep at RIT. The sophomore then closed the month with 20 saves in a 1-1 tie with Penn State on Dec. 30.
A native of Elm Creek, Manitoba, Schroeder has been outstanding between the pipes for BU. Over her last seven starts, Schroeder has posted an NCAA-best 1.16 goals-against average and a league-best .955 save percentage. Since Nov. 27, Schroeder is 7-1-1 and leads the league with a 1.15 goals-against average. She is also third in save percentage (.948) in that span. For the season, Schroeder owns a 1.83 GAA and a .934 save percentage.
