Zegras Honored as Hockey East Rookie of the Week

WAKEFIELD, Mass. - After putting together a pair of three-point performances over the weekend, freshman forward Trevor Zegras of the Boston University men's ice hockey team has been named the Hockey East Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday.
In the Terriers' weekend home-and-home series against Providence, Zegras tallied a goal and two assists on each night, setting a career high in points on Friday at Agganis Arena before matching it the following night on the road.
Zegras opened the scoring on Friday with his third goal of the season before assisting on both of David Farrance's third-period power-play goals to help BU earn a 3-3 draw with the Friars. On Saturday, the rookie centerman picked up an assist in the first period before tallying a goal and adding a helper in the middle stanza.
Through nine games, Zegras has 12 points on four goals and eight assists. He ranks second among Hockey East rookies in assists and is tied for second in both goals and points. He is the second BU freshman to earn Hockey East Rookie of the Week accolades this season, joining Robert Mastrosimone.
