
BU, No. 6 BC Set to Renew Rivalry Friday Night

The Boston University women's ice hockey team will continue its three-game homestand on Friday night when the Terriers welcome No. 6 Boston College to Walter Brown Arena. Puck drop between the two rivals is set for 7 p.m.
HISTORY WITH THE EAGLES
- This will be the 57th all-time meeting between the two B-line rivals.
- BU is 19-30-7 all-time against the Eagles, including two victories during the 2018-19 regular season.
- Last year marked the first time that BU swept a weekend series with the Eagles.
LAST TIME AGAINST BC
- Abby Cook lit the lamp but the Terriers fell to the Eagles, 5-1, in a Hockey East semifinal matchup at Schneider Arena in Providence.
- Jesse Compher and Kaleigh Donnelly assisted on Cook's power-play strike.
- Corinne Schroeder made 31 saves.
LAST TIME AT WALTER BROWN
- BU scored three straight goals in the second period to grab a 3-1 lead and eventually defeat BC, 4-2, on Dec. 1, 2018.
- Jesse Compher (1g, 2a), Abby Cook (2g, 1a) and Sammy Davis (3a) all had three points.
- Deziray De Sousa scored the eventual game-winner while Kristina Schuler and Reagan Rust also added one assist apiece.
- Corinne Schroeder made 37 saves.

- Redshirt senior Sammy Davis leads BU with 12 points, including a team-high nine assists, against the Eagles.
- Jesse Compher has tallied three goals and six assists in two seasons against BC.
- Abby Cook leads BU with four goals and has also added four assists.
- Nara Elia (1g, 4a), Deziray De Sousa (2g, 2a) and Natasza Tarnowski (2a) all have multiple points against the Eagles.
SCOUTING THE EAGLES
- BC suffered its first loss of the year on Saturday, a 5-2 defeat at UConn.
- The Eagles had started the year with seven straight wins and entered last weekend with a 9-0-1 record.
- Freshman Hannah Bilka leads the squad with 18 points thanks to a team-best 10 goals.
- Sophomore Kelly Browne has tallied a team-high 11 assists.
- Sophomore Cayla Barnes, who missed last weekend's game while with Team USA, has 12 points (2g, 10a) and is one of five Eagles with at least 10 points.
- Sophomore Maddy McArthur is 7-1-1 in nine starts.
- She owns a 1.87 goals-against average and a .919 save percentage.
OFF TO FAST STARTS
- BU has scored the opening goal in 10 of its first 11 games this year.
- No other team in the nation has struck first more often than BU.
- Four of freshman Julia Nearis' six goals have been the first goal of the game, which is tied for the most such strikes in the NCAA.
- BU has also been good defensively to start, as it has allowed just four first-period goals; its average of 0.36 goals against in the opening 20 minutes is ninth in the nation.
STUART SHARP AGAINST YALE
- Sophomore goaltender Kate Stuart made her third start of the season on Tuesday against Yale.
- She made 30 saves to earn her second victory of the season.
- Stuart has allowed just one goal in each of her last two starts.
- She owns a .940 save percentage this season and a .942 save percentage through the first eight games of her collegiate career.
SCHROEDER CONTINUES TO SHINE
- Junior Corinne Schroeder, named Hockey East Goaltender of the Month on Nov. 1, has yet to allow more than two goals in any of her eight starts this season.
- That strong play continued at Providence on Nov. 9 as she stopped 26 shots, including all 13 she faced in the opening 20 minutes, to help BU earn a 2-1 victory.
- She owns a .950 save percentage, which ranks fourth in the country.
- Schroeder also boasts a top-10 goals-against average in the NCAA at 1.37.
- She has allowed just four even-strength goals over her last five starts and just seven such goals total.
DEFENSE IS STINGY
- BU has allowed just 1.55 goals per game, which ranks fifth in the country this season.
- At even strength, BU gives up a mere 1.0 goals per game, which is tied for fourth in the nation with three other teams, including Boston College.
