HOW IT HAPPENED
- Elia opened the scoring for BU at the 8:39 mark of the first period, just 21 seconds into the Terriers' first power play of the evening. Sophomore Jesse Compher gained the UConn blue line before dropping the puck for Donnelly at the left point. Donnelly slid the puck to Cook at the top of the zone, and she fired a shot towards the net. Elia knocked the shot down and quickly popped the loose puck past Morgan Fisher (17 saves) for her seventh goal of the season.
- BU blocked eight shots in the first period, including several during a pair of Husky power plays.
- Correia extended the lead to 2-0 just 2:59 into the second stanza. Junior tri-captain Natasza Tarnowski fired the puck into the offensive zone, where it was met behind the net by Fisher. She tried to send the puck along the boards and out of the zone but Kelley intercepted the pass and found Correia for the freshman's seventh goal of the year.
- Wuthrich made it 3-0 with 40.1 seconds remaining in the frame when Parker hopped off the bench, picked off a UConn clearing attempt and quickly fed Wuthrich in the slot for her sixth strike of the season.
- UConn got a goal back 2:23 into the third period on a 2-on-1 to cut the deficit to 3-1.
- Schroeder was spectacular in the third period, stopping 20 shots in the frame to hold the Huskies to just one goal in their comeback bid.
