The No. 8 and third-seeded Boston University women's ice hockey team will host sixth-seeded New Hampshire in a best-of-three Hockey East quarterfinal series that begins Friday night at Walter Brown Arena. BU and UNH will face off at 7 on Friday, with the final two games taking place at 3 p.m.

GOOD TO BE HOME
- After hitting the road for last year's quarterfinal series at Maine, BU is back home for the opening round of the league playoffs.
- The Terriers are 11-2 all-time at Walter Brown Arena in the Hockey East quarterfinals.
- One of those two losses was against UNH in game one of the 2017 quarterfinals.

- The Terriers are 4-2 all-time against UNH in the league tournament, including a 3-1 record at Walter Brown Arena.
- All four of those tilts at Walter Brown were in the quarterfinal round.
- The Terriers defeated the Wildcats, 9-1, in a single-elimination quarterfinal game in 2012.
- BU then won games two and three in the 2017 quarterfinals.
- Like this season, BU and UNH were seeded third and sixth, respectively, in 2012 and 2017.
- The Terriers were also the No. 3 seed in 2010 when they defeated second-seeded UNH, 2-0, in the semifinals.

- The Terriers are 28-15-5 all-time against New Hampshire, including a 2-0-1 record this season.

- The Terriers have not lost a regular-season game to UNH at home since Feb. 3, 2011.

WHAT'S UP WITH THE WILDCATS
- New Hampshire clinched the sixth seed with a 3-3 home tie against Boston College on Feb. 23.
- UNH has not won since Feb. 3, going 0-3-2 since a 3-2 triumph over Maine that capped a five-game win streak.
- Junior Taylor Wenczkowski, who notched a hat trick in the 3-3 tie with BU on Feb. 16, leads UNH with 20 goals and 26 points.
- Freshman Lauren Martin leads the Wildcats with 14 assists.
- Junior Meghara McManus is the only other Wildcat with at least 10 goals, having lit the lamp 11 times in addition to eight assists.
- Senior Kyra Smith is 12-10-4 in 26 starts, posting a 2.11 goals-against average and a .928 save percentage.
- She combined for 50 saves in her two starts against the Terriers in February.
