BOSTON - Senior
Brendan Homire has been added as a captain of the Boston University men's lacrosse team, head coach
Ryan Polley announced on Monday.
Homire is in the midst of an outstanding senior season for the 5-1 Terriers. A starting midfielder, Homire is second on the squad with 10 assists and ranks third on the team with 16 points. He is also tied for second on the Terriers with 19 ground balls and has caused five turnovers. Homire has not only been great on the offensive end, but he has played an important role in the Terriers' success at the faceoff X with his tenacious play on the wing.
"I couldn't be happier for Brendan to named a captain," Polley said. "Not only has he set a great example for our underclassmen, but he's shown them that you can be a great leader without being a captain. Brendan has been tremendous this season, but his leadership off the field has outshone his on-field production. He is a major reason why our team is off to a great start this year."
Homire joins classmates
James Burr,
Quintin Germain and
Michael Laviano as part of the Terriers' leadership group.
