HOW IT HAPPENED
- DuBois had three strikeouts in the top of the first but did face trouble with a one-out walk and two-out single that put runners at the corners.
- BU took advantage of senior Emily Morrow's walk and Colgate error with two runs, as Ponce hit a two-out RBI single and drew a throw to second on a successful stolen base attempt that allowed Killebrew to score from third.
- Senior Alex Heinen and Killebrew hit back-to-back one-out singles in the third but were stranded on base.
- The Terriers put the game away one inning later with six runs off four hits and an error.
- Senior Analisa Ruff set the table for the run-rule victory by hitting a lead-off single to center and scoring on sophomore Jen Horita's double to left center.
- Morrow had an RBI sac bunt that was followed by Heinen's RBI double to right center.
- After being hit by a pitch, Killebrew reached third on Ponce's two-RBI single up the middle and then scored on a muffed throw.
- DuBois threw nine pitches in the fifth for three outs and a one-hit shutout victory.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Freshman Aliyah Huerta-Leipner led off with a walk, reached second on a wild pitch and scored on Morrow's RBI single to left to grab the lead for good.
- In the second, Ruff replaced sophomore Marina Sylvestri at first on a fielder's choice before reaching third on Horita's single and scoring on a wild pitch.
- Freshman Nicole Amodio followed with an RBI single to left center and scored the fourth run on Morrow's RBI triple down the right field line.
- Colgate led off the fifth with a single and advanced the runner to second on a sac bunt, but Gant ended the threat with a strikeout.
- In the bottom half, Killebrew doubled down the left field line and scored on Ponce's single to center.
- Junior pinch runner Kali Magane scored the game's sixth run from first without BU recording a hit, as she took second on Sylvestri's sac bunt, third on Ruff's fly out to right and home after Horita earned a walk and started a rundown on stolen base attempt.
- Huerta-Leipner added one more run during the sixth by finding the gap in left center for a double and scoring on Heinen's single to right.
- Colgate was unable to get the ball out of the infield against Gant in the seventh for the loss.
- BU extended its series lead against Colgate to 16-1 after shutting out the Raiders twice on one day for the first time.
- Gant and DuBois have combiend for just one earned run allowed in 55 innings during Patriot League action this year.
- The 12 hits in game two were the second most this season by the Terriers after they tallied 14 earlier in the year in a 8-0(5) win over Rider.
- Killebrew had a season-high three hits in the second game, including two doubles, and totaled three runs on the day alongside Huerta-Leipner, who now leads the team with six doubles.
- DuBois claimed sole possession of seventh place in the record book at 43 wins and needs five more to reach No. 6 Mary Colleran ('00).
- DuBois also now sits at No. 7 with 331 career strikeouts, 23 shy of No. 6 Colleran.
- Heinen collected three hits, including a double that pushed her past Niclana Tolmasoff ('97) for sole possession of fourth place in career doubles (35), four shy of Emily Roesch ('13).
- Morrow is now one triple shy of reaching the No. 10 slot occupied by Richele VanZandt ('92).
