
McSorley Named to Academic All-Patriot League Team

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Junior Joe McSorley of the Boston University men's lacrosse team was named to the Academic All-Patriot League Team on Wednesday.
This is the second straight season that McSorley has earned a spot on this squad. He posted a 3.77 grade-point average in the Questrom School of Business as a business administration and management major. McSorley has been named to the Dean's List every semester during his time at BU and is a two-time Patriot League Academic Honor Roll selection.
On the field, McSorley has enjoyed another excellent season in the cage. He owns a .552 save percentage, which ranks third in the conference and 11th in the country. His 10.08 goals-against average is 19th in the country, as is his average of 12.31 saves per game. McSorley has twice made 20 saves in a game, including a 24-save performance in an 8-7 season-opening victory at Providence. His play of late has been strong, as he has averaged 15.75 saves over the last four games and has posted a 3-1 record, including a win over then-No. 2 Loyola Maryland in which he held the Greyhounds to just two second-half goals.
To be eligible for the Academic All-Patriot League Team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average and be a starter or key player in his/her sport. Freshmen or students in their first academic year at their school are not eligible for the honor.
