The eighth-ranked Boston University women's ice hockey team will host Vermont on Friday night at Walter Brown Arena. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. The game will be televised live on NESNplus.
LOOKING AT THE LEAGUE STANDINGS
- The Terriers are currently in second place with 27 points, 11 points back of first-place Northeastern.
- BU is ahead of third-place Boston College by one point with one game in hand.
- The Terriers own the head-to-head tiebreaker with the Eagles as well.
- BU is also four points ahead of fourth-place UConn and will face the Huskies twice on the final weekend of the regular season.
- The top four teams will receive home ice for the Hockey East quarterfinals.
- BU has never lost a league quarterfinal series at home.
HISTORY WITH VERMONT
- The Terriers are 34-8-7 all-time against the Catamounts, including an 18-3-5 record at Walter Brown Arena.Â

- Mackenna Parker (3g, 1a) and Breanna Scarpaci (4a) each have four points.
- Twelve different Terriers have scored a goal against the Catamounts and 16 different BU skaters have notched a point against UVM.
SCOUTING THE CATAMOUNTS
- UVM is 0-3-1 in its last four games, including two home losses to Northeastern last weekend.
- Sophomore Maude Poulin-Labelle leads the Catamounts with 23 points (11g, 12a) while classmates Corinne McCool (12g, 8a) and Sini Karjalainen (4g, 17a) lead Vermont in goals and assists, respectively.
- Sophomore Blanka Skodova, who started in the 5-1 Terrier win on Nov. 24, is 6-7-5 with a 2.50 goals-against average and an .891 save percentage.
- Freshman Natalie Ferenc started the Terriers' 3-2 overtime win and owns a 3.51 GAA and an .853 save percentage.
IT'S NOT EASY TO BEAT BU
- BU has yet to lose a game by more than two goals this season.
- Both of the Terriers' defeats this semester have been by a 2-1 score.
DEZ KEEPS DELIVERING
- Senior Deziray De Sousa has been outstanding over the last six games.
- She has tallied seven points (4g, 3a) in that span, including a goal and an assist on Saturday at Merrimack and the Terriers' lone goal on Tuesday at NU.
- Her goal at Merrimack proved to be the game-winner.
- De Sousa has scored two winners and assisted on a third over the last six games, and she has factored on seven total game-winning goals this season.
- She scored a career-high two goals, including the eventual game-winner, in a 4-1 win over Holy Cross on Jan. 17.
- De Sousa enters Friday with 16 points (6g, 10a).
- Her 10 assists is a career high and the 16 points is also a new career best.
