Mattivi Named Hockey East Defender of the Week

AMESBURY, Mass. - Junior Nadia Mattivi of the Boston University women's ice hockey team was named Hockey East Defender of the Week, the league announced on Monday.

Mattivi was terrific at both ends of the ice this past weekend. She assisted on the Terriers' game-winning goal at Union, a shorthanded strike at the end of the second period that broke a 1-1 tie in a 4-1 victory. Mattivi also led the Terriers with four blocked shots and generated three shots on goal.

In five games played this season, Mattivi has totaled three assists. She missed two contests this year to represent Italy in pre-qualification games for the 2022 Winter Olympics. Her team advanced to the final qualification round, which will take place Nov. 11-14 in Germany.
