Compher Named Hockey East Player of the Week

WAKEFIELD, Mass. - Senior co-captain Jesse Compher of the Boston University women's ice hockey team was named Hockey East Player of the Week for the second consecutive week, the league announced on Monday.
Compher led the entire conference with three points, all of which came in the Terriers' 3-2 comeback win at No. 6 Boston College on Friday. With her team trailing, 2-0, Compher scored a power-play goal to get BU on the board in the second stanza. She then provided the primary assist on Mackenna Parker's tying goal early in the third period. Compher then capped the comeback when she scored with 40.3 seconds remaining in regulation.
The Northbrook, Illinois, native also led the league with 28 faceoff wins against the Eagles, a team that entered the weekend ranked fourth in the conference in faceoff percentage. Compher has tallied six points (4g, 2a) in her last three games, including the Terriers' last two game-winning goals. For the season, she has totaled seven goals and four assists for 11 points in just eight games.
